Psalm

By the Word of the Lord

After Psalm 33

By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,

and by the breath of His mouth all their host.

He spoke, and the stars came into being;

He commanded, and they stood.

He gathers the waters of the sea as a heap;

He puts the deeps in storehouses.

What He has made, He also holds —

not one star slips from His keeping.

Let all the earth fear the Lord;

let all who dwell in the world stand in awe.

The sky is not empty; it is full of His word,

and the night carries the echo of it.

I, who am made of the same dust as the hills,

will fear Him too, and stand in awe.

He spoke me, and I came to be;

He will not let me fall from His keeping.
