Scrolling the Heavens is a reverent Christian astronomy website with an interactive star map of the constellations and planets, paired with Scripture reflections and devoted to sparking childlike wonder at God’s creation and to anchoring celestial observation in Scripture. We set the restless glow of modern screen-time against the ancient, quiet beauty of the heavens — the very canvas God declared as signs. Across our pages we walk through wonder, the great sign of Revelation 12, the constellations of the Mazzaroth, a growing collection of psalms, and the Christ-centered theology that holds every reflection together. We are not an observatory, a horoscope, or a prophecy timetable; we are a quiet place to look up and remember who made the lights.
Who it is for
This is written for everyday people: families stepping outside after dinner, a believer pausing beneath a quiet sky, a student of the Word tracing a verse back to the stars it names, and anyone who has felt that modern life has dulled our capacity for awe. You do not need a telescope, a theology degree, or any familiarity with astronomy to enter in. You only need a willingness to look up, to slow down, and to wonder. The language stays within reach of the non-academic reader while remaining grounded in solid, conservative biblical scholarship, so that curiosity is never gated behind jargon.
Who Created Scrolling the Heavens?
Scrolling the Heavens is built by a small group of believers who love the stars and love the Savior those stars were made to declare. We hold to Christ-centered, historically rooted biblical teaching and write humbly — aware that the heavens proclaim the glory of God far better than we ever could. We absolutely reject astrology, horoscopes, and any form of date-setting or personal fortune-telling, and we offer every astronomical reflection as faithful, non-dogmatic worship rather than dogma. Our hope is simply this: that a few more people would step outside, lift their eyes, and glimpse the One the skies are singing of.

Wherever Scripture is quoted on this site, we want to be honest about where the words come from. Unless otherwise noted, Scripture quotations are from the ESV® Bible (The Holy Bible, English Standard Version®), copyright © 2001 by Crossway Bibles, a publishing ministry of Good News Publishers. We love this translation for the way it holds careful accuracy and readable English together, and it carries the voice of most of the verses you will meet here.
A few details are worth saying plainly. In some quotations the deity pronouns (He, Him, You, and the like) are capitalized to make the reverence on the page visible to the eye — a small editorial choice, not a change to the text. In a handful of places the wording is lightly paraphrased for readability, always to clarify the meaning of the verse, never to add to it or take from it.
And the psalms you find in our Psalms section are something else altogether. Those marked “After Psalm...” are original compositions written in the spirit of a given psalm — devotional poetry, not Bible text. We label them that way so no one mistakes a human reflection for Scripture itself. The Bible is the Bible; our reflections are only an attempt to listen to it well, and to wonder out loud under the same sky it was written beneath.
