The Skies Proclaim His Righteousness

After Psalm 97

The Lord reigns; let the earth be glad,

and let the distant shores rejoice.

Clouds and thick darkness surround Him,

but righteousness and justice are the foundation of His sky.

Fire goes before Him and consumes His foes,

and His lightning lights up the world.

The mountains melt like wax before the Lord,

and all the peoples see His glory.

The heavens declare His righteousness,

and all the nations behold His light.

The skies do not whisper; they announce:

the King is good, and the King is near.

Let my heart be a sky that declares Him too.

Let justice fall like rain from my life,

and let mercy rise like the morning star.

For the Lord reigns, and I am glad.
