Our Sun is 1.3 million times the volume of Earth. You could fit over a million of our planets inside it, and it's not even close to the biggest star we can see.
Betelgeuse — that orange-red glow in Orion's shoulder — is 700 times wider than our Sun. If you set it where the Sun is, it would swallow Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, and Jupiter whole. UY Scuti is 1,700 times the Sun's diameter. And there are stars beyond that we can't even see.
Our Sun is a speck. Earth is a speck of a speck.
And the God who hurled those giants into space — who weighed the galaxies in His hand and named every star — that God knit you together in your mother's womb. That God says, "I have loved you with an everlasting love." That God is coming back on a white horse with a love smile to bring you home.
The scale doesn't make you small. It makes the love enormous.
The heavens aren't there to make us feel like dust. They're there to show us how vast the love must be that it reaches down to the dust and says, "You're mine."
So believe His Word. Relish and frolic in God's love.
The same God who commands the armies of heaven knows your name. And He's coming to bring you home.
Are you ready?
